What happens if a covered HVAC system or appliance in my plan cannot be repaired?

If an appliance cannot be repaired and you have not added GreenBacks Cash Option, then you would need to replace the appliance. The GreenBacks Cash Option and Water Heater Replacement add-ons help cover the cost of replacing an appliance when repairs aren’t possible.

Can I make a claim for service right away?

For all protection plans and the air conditioning add-on, your coverage will begin 15 days after enrollment. For GreenBacks Cash Option protection, coverage begins 30 days after enrollment. For the Water Heater Replacement add-on, your coverage will begin 90 days after enrollment.

Are plans available that will provide full replacement of appliances

Our Water Heater Replacement add-on will replace your water heater when repairs are not possible. Currently, our plan options do not offer full replacement for other appliances.

The Home Protection Plus program is not regulated by the Michigan Public Service Commission. Repair service programs may be available from another provider. By signing up for Home Protection Plus repair coverage, you are not switching your electric or natural gas utility and service. Your regulated utility rates and the conditions of your service are not affected by activation of Home Protection Plus or by your decision to use the services of another repair service provider.
